An exellent book...

I've got this book as a reference for the course I'm taking in school of public health. I got it and I finished it in 3-4 days. An excellent book, very easy to read and follow. Excellent surveys and very usefull points. I highly recommend this book for whoever that thinks (s)he want to become a teacher, a trainer and above all trains the trainer.
As a medical resident, I used lessons I've learned from this book and the result was excellent. I'm looking for other books written by the author.

Karen's Excellent Work!

Training and facilitation are two different skill sets. Karen's work will help fill critical skill gaps for new trainers/facilitators lacking formalized training experience/skill. This book will provide solid foundational learning development skills every well-rounded trainer must know for effectiveness in a field learning organization where we do it all (learning assessment to evaluation). Finally, Karen's work draws an important distinction between facilitating and training. Karen's work provides excellent examples of solid facilitation performance, where facilitators leverage the room's knowledge heavily in the learning process without being a subject matter expert. This comes in handy when you are facilitating learning for a topic that you have little experience or context for training as a subject matter expert-trainer. Or, when you have topic expertise and must strategically leverage it in such a way that it does not prevent learner's from confidently sharing their experiences. As facilitators, we are "Guides on the side, Not the Sage on the Stage". Get this book!
