I LOVE this book!

I absolutely loved this book and these characters! Mia who is a strong woman who is also broken at the same time who goes through some hard times throughout the whole book whilst dealing with her very delicious boss Noah who may I add looks like Thor or Chris hemsworth which makes the book even more yummy. While he's trying to figure out a way to be with her and she's trying to ignore the attraction of course as we all know the attraction can't be ignored for long and something has to happen. I strongly suggest buying this book and seeing exactly where their story leads, I promise it won't be something you regret doing. I absolutely can't get enough of this book and am looking forward to a lot more from this author!

Good book, although a little wordy.

4 stars! The story is set in Western Australia, which was a nice change in pace from the majority of the books I read set in the US. The two main characters, Mia and Noah bounced between what I felt were "ordinary people" and then seemingly going through some "out of the ordinary" situations. I enjoyed the story line, there were a few twists and turns that I didn't expect, and of course a bit of a cliffy leading in to book 2.
I will say that while the writing in this book was descriptive, it sometimes took away from the story. I appreciate when an author can really set the scene, but I started to notice myself skipping over some of the wordy parts just because they weren't necessary to the story. I also noticed some repetitiveness throughout, Everything was "large", and poor Noah was seemingly ALWAYS hard.
This was a good book overall. I will read book 2 because I need to know what happens next!

Impressive Debut Novel

I loved this book! The characters were well developed and easy to relate to. Noah and Mia weren't perfect and had "real people problems." The author described the settings in such detail that I felt I was really there. The plot was incredibly interesting, and I found it hard to put the book down. I was on the edge of my seat more than once, worrying for Noah and Mia! The book does have a note at the beginning, warning of some potentially disturbing content. I was very appreciative of the warning, as it could have been an emotional trigger for me. I was surprised to find out that this was the Lilly Barrett's debut novel, as it was very well written. I enjoyed the book so much that I immediately jumped straight into book two! I will be recommending this book to all of my friends and look forward to future books by Lilly Barrett.
